Places I love to Shop

Buying local keeps more of the money you just spent in our local community. Additionally, when it comes to food, it is healthier for you.

When you buy celery at the grocery store, do you know how long it has been on the shelf? Do you know when it was harvested? Do you know how far it traveled? I’ve read that celery starts to lose nutritional value after one week in the refrigerator. I buy as much of my produce at the farmers market as I can. I know my food is fresh.  Also, I get to talk to the vendors that grow the food, raise the animals, and benefit from the purchases I make. I love that.
