11/29 Health & Wellness Tip – Cheat Day?

I came across this article about a week after telling a coaching client just this philosophy. He told me that he has a cheat day each week. I said he should consider spreading those cheat meals or cheat desserts through the week opposed to all of them in one day. Rather than anticipate that one day when you can eat what you’d like, allow yourself to do it in moderation several times during the week.

As soon as I saw this article I knew it had to be shared!

I do agree with cheat meals and I enjoy them at various points each week. I tell people that I live by the Michele Spear Diet based on the 80/20 rule. That gives me flexibility, which we all need.

We are at that time of year where allowing cheat desserts or cheat meals is critical. We need to allow them; however, it is easy to get carried away during the holidays and allow most, or all, meals to be cheat meals. When we do this, getting back on our healthy wagon becomes more challenging. So, allowing ourselves to slightly step off our path makes it easier to step back on it. When you do cheat, savor that dessert or meal because not every meal can be like that. Enjoy it and then make healthier decisions for your next several meals.
